DAVID WALKER: How did you come to make Fearless?
" Working on a lot of projects is something Lee knows well, as his POW!
Going against the will of his father, Yuanjia trains in secret, and by
the time he has reached adulthood, he has become a legendary champion
fighter. I think you get what you deserve and you deserve what you get
and you get what you think you're owed; it doesn't matter what form it
comes in. Ian - How did you come on board The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
and what drew you to the project initially?

Instead, it is Yuanjia himself, through is arrogance and self
importance, who emerges as the film's antagonist, doing more damage to
himself than any enemy ever could.

It's hard to really project what the film might have been like.

" And, in truth, there are worse things to be remembered for. Also,
Chainsaw changed horror movies.

Where so many other films are driven by a basic plot that revolves
around vengeance - the foremost staple of Hong Kong cinema - Fearless
trades revenge for redemption.

Ian - You recently had a cameo in Nick Palumbo's controversial Murder
Set Pieces. There are so many films and stories that tackle or don't
tackle and deal with the notion of good and how good we can be for each
other and keeping away from doing bad things, etc. Don Coscarelli: The
creative interference was on many levels. I feel honored to have worked
with a great artist like Alan Ball and a great tale

So I kind of delved into it just by reading it and then I met John
Hillcoat, the director and found him to be perfectly accessible and
understanding. Even if I had a full-time job showing somebody how to
draw like me, it's so inherent to the way I think and the way I view
things, you can't teach somebody how to do that.
Someone eventually told me about it, and I've now recently been able to
see it, but I had no idea such a film existed at the time.

The problem I have when people try to imitate my style. I was involved
earlier, in some early restoration work that was beginning on them even
longer ago than that. Going against the will of his father, Yuanjia
trains in secret, and by the time he has reached adulthood, he has
become a legendary champion fighter.

Guy Pearce: Initially, it was just the script and, I guess, its
unconventional nature. " MM: Yeah, I just never believe it, because I
don't want to be disappointed. I was involved earlier, in some early
restoration work that was beginning on them even longer ago than that.
I wanted to make a movie telling a story of life. "I come up with the
ideas. If that's my fate, so be it. He also had a hard time in his life.
There was an illegitimate German DVD release of the workprint of
Phantasm II.

How do you balance these two concepts: genre filmmaking and intelligent,
high concept films?
I wish I could have done it all myself. Kiyoshi Kurosawa: I think this
stems from traditional stories that are called Kaidan, which means ghost
story in Japanese.
In that year, a quarter million people committed suicide.

" MM: Yeah, I just never believe it, because I don't want to be
disappointed. What Mike is able to do on a page is much harder to
capture the same level of atmosphere and mood in a film.
Now his second film Twelve and Holding arrives on DVD and I had the
opportunity to talk to Michael Custa about the DVD, his work on
Showtime's new series Dexter and his experience on Six Feet Under.
But with a relatively short time, Li joined the ranks of the great kung
fu flick masters.

But in the years he has been gone, foreigners have flocked to China and
Western exploitation is running rampant.

It's certainly nothing I ever expected in my life, and the whole notion
is very far away from what my life is really like. wise, they'll ignore
you. During his tenure, Disney animation produced some of its greatest
box office successes of all time, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty
and the Beast and The Lion King.
I don't do everything," he says with a smile.

In Twelve and Holding and LIE you deal with the deep issues children can
face as they transition between kids and adults. E and Twelve and
Holding you worked on Six Feet Under.

" and his latest creations, developed by his new company, POW!
As to Joe, his work really appeals to me - there's a level of humor,
violence and just plain weirdness that I really respond to. Good stuff
for a horror movie!
I just responded to what I read, in books, in scripts, and then went
from there.

And though he's only recently jumping into the DVD business, he's been
on the cutting edge of the field, creating "special features" for his
comics way before the first commentary was ever recorded. Were you
directly involved in the DVD productions, or did you work as a
consultant?
